Growatt MIN 3800TL-XH-US 3.8kW Grid-Tie Solar Inverter

The Growatt MIN 3800TL-XH-US is a 3.8kW battery-ready grid-tie solar inverter for residential solar installations in Canada. It delivers 3,800W at 240V, supports 208V grid connections, and combines two independent MPPTs with up to 98.0% efficiency. Use it for a new grid-connected solar installation or as part of a compatible solar-plus-storage system.

Why choose the Growatt MIN 3.8kW inverter?

• 3.8kW AC output: Rated for 3,800W at 240V or 3,290W at 208V.
• Two independent MPPTs: Supports separate PV inputs for array design flexibility, with a maximum recommended solar array of 7,600W STC. String sizing must stay within the inverter's voltage and current limits.
• Battery-ready design: Supports compatible high-voltage batteries in DC-coupled and AC-coupled system configurations.
• Flexible energy management: Supports self-consumption, zero export, time-of-use and off-grid modes when configured with the required system components.
• Outdoor-rated enclosure: NEMA 4X / IP65 protection and fanless natural-convection cooling.
• Built-in protection: AFCI, anti-islanding, ground-fault monitoring, DC reverse-polarity protection and surge protection, with rapid-shutdown support.
• Monitoring options: RS485 interface; WiFi and 4G communication are optional.

MIN 3800TL-XH-US technical specifications

Backup options

Supports SYN200-US for whole-home backup configurations. The 3.8kW inverter's output limits still apply; backup loads must be sized accordingly. Battery storage and the appropriate transfer equipment are required for outage backup and dark-start operation.

Canadian installation and standards

CSA C22.2 No. 107.1 and conformity to UL 1741, UL 1741SA/SB, UL 1699B and IEEE 1547/1547.1. It also lists rapid-shutdown compliance with UL 1741 PVRSS / NEC 2020 690.12. System-level approvals, including UL 9540, depend on the approved equipment combination. Have your installer confirm the configuration and local utility requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the MIN 3800TL-XH-US without a battery?

Yes. It is a grid-tie solar inverter with a battery-ready design, so compatible storage can be added as part of a supported system configuration.

Will it power my home during an outage?

Outage backup requires compatible batteries and the appropriate backup equipment for the inverter's V2 or V3 hardware. A grid-tie-only installation does not provide outage backup.

Is this a 120V inverter?

The datasheet specifies 208V/240V nominal grid connections and 240V backup output. Confirm the complete backup arrangement with your installer when planning 120V household loads.

Does it include WiFi monitoring?

Yes.
