Description
Description
The ROCKSOLAR 5kW Pitch Control Wind Turbine is designed for wind energy projects at farms, rural properties, commercial sites and remote facilities with suitable wind resources. Its three-blade, upwind rotor combines mechanical centrifugal pitch control with tail-vane wind alignment. On-grid or off-grid operation depends on the controller, inverter and storage configuration selected for the project.
Features
- 5 kW rated output: Rated at a wind speed of 11 m/s, with a 5.6 m rotor.
- Pitch control: Blade pitch adjusts above rated wind speed to regulate rotor speed and support stable power output.
- Tail-vane alignment: The tail vane responds to changes in wind direction to position the rotor toward the wind.
- Controlled shutdown: Pitch control reduces rotor speed before mechanical braking is applied, supported by the automatic safety protection system.
- Low-wind start-up: The rotor starts at 2.5 m/s, with a specified electrical cut-in wind speed of 3 m/s.
- System configuration: Controller, dump load, inverter, battery storage, tower and monitoring equipment are specified in the project quotation. Package contents depend on the selected configuration.

Tower and system configuration
Independent tower options are 8 m, 12 m and 15 m; tilt-up options are 8 m and 9 m. The reference tower uses Q355 steel with a tapered polygonal structure, external flange joints and hot-dip galvanized protection. Tower selection, controller and inverter, dump load, battery storage, communications, foundation design, cabling and installation scope are confirmed in the project quotation; the reference configuration is not a statement of included package contents.
Plan your wind project
Contact ROCKSOLAR with your site location, wind-resource information and electrical service details to confirm system configuration and pricing. Grid voltage and frequency, inverter certification, utility interconnection requirements where applicable, tower design and installation requirements must be confirmed for the Canadian project before ordering. Rated output is measured at the stated wind speed; actual energy production depends on the site's wind conditions, tower height and system availability.
