Growatt SPH 10000TL-HU-US Home Backup with GSL Battery Storage

Build a home battery backup system around the Growatt SPH 10000TL-HU-US 10kW-rated hybrid inverter and your choice of one or two GSL Energy 14.34kWh wall-mounted LiFePO4 batteries. Choose 14.34kWh for essential-load backup or 28.68kWh for longer runtime and a load-managed whole-house design. Both configurations use the same 120/240V split-phase inverter, with grid charging and provision for optional solar and generator integration.

Whole-house backup requires a site-specific design. The 10kW inverter rating is the system's AC power ceiling, not a promise to run every appliance simultaneously.

Choose your battery package

Each battery is rated 51.2V and 280Ah. Select the battery quantity above when ordering. Product images show the available configurations; the two-battery package contains two batteries only when that option is selected.

Power and storage for your home

• 14.34kWh or 28.68kWh nominal storage: the battery datasheet lists 13.623kWh discharge energy per battery at 95% depth of discharge, before conversion losses and reserve settings.
• 10kW-rated inverter: 120/240V split-phase backup capability, subject to operating limits, available battery power and load balance.
• Fast backup transfer: the inverter datasheet specifies a switch time below 10ms under applicable operating conditions.
• Solar expansion: three MPPTs and up to 15kW recommended PV array power, with optional panels and installer-designed strings.
• Generator charging support: provision for a compatible generator, subject to sizing and configuration.
• Manufacturer warranties: supplied datasheets state 10 years for the inverter and each battery, subject to their respective terms.

Battery quantity and backup power

One-battery option: at 51.2V nominal voltage, 100A recommended current corresponds to 5.12kW DC and 150A maximum current corresponds to 7.68kW DC, before inverter losses. This option does not deliver 10kW continuous battery-only AC output. Available power varies with voltage, temperature, state of charge and BMS limits.

Two-battery option: two batteries provide longer runtime and share the current demand, making this the stronger starting point for a load-managed whole-house design.

Illustrative backup runtime

Planning estimates, not measured performance: nominal capacity × an assumed 90% usable window × an assumed 90% conversion efficiency, divided by average load plus a 40W equivalent AC overhead allowance. Actual runtime depends on reserve settings, battery condition, temperature, inverter consumption, load cycling and startup demands. No solar or generator contribution is assumed.
