The GSL Energy 51.2V 280Ah LiFePO4 wall-mount battery is UL9540A tested, built with UL1973-certified cells, rated for 8,500+ cycles, and expands from one unit for a home to 16 units in parallel for commercial or off-grid systems.

About the safety testing
UL9540A is the fire-propagation test that inspectors and insurers look for on home energy storage. In GSL's test of this wall-mount model, a forced thermal runaway stayed inside the battery: no external flames, no flying debris and no explosion, and neighbouring units stayed below 32°C.

FAQ
Can it be installed outdoors?
No. This is an IP20 indoor battery for dry locations such as a basement, utility room or garage. Choose the self-heating version if that space drops below freezing.
Do I need the self-heating version?
Yes if the battery will sit somewhere that drops below freezing, such as an unheated garage, shed or cottage. LiFePO4 batteries should not be charged below 0°C without heating.
Will it work with my inverter?
It communicates over CAN and RS485 with most 48V hybrid and off-grid inverters. Call us with your inverter model and we'll confirm compatibility.
Does it qualify for BC or Ontario battery rebates?
Rebate programs set their own product and installer requirements. BC Hydro, for example, requires a battery on its qualified list and an installer from its contractor network. Call us before buying and we'll tell you where this battery currently stands.
How is it delivered?
Each module weighs about 130 kg and ships on a pallet by freight. Plan for two people or lifting equipment to move it into place.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes. Connecting a home battery to your electrical system should be done by a licensed electrician, and permits and inspection may be required where you live.
