What is included in this 3.5kW off-grid solar kit?
The package includes one Growatt SPF 3500TL LVM-US inverter, six Canadian Solar 450W TOPHiKu6 All-Black panels, one solar panel-to-inverter cable set and one Wi-Fi monitoring module. Battery storage, mounting and additional installation materials are not included unless specifically quoted.
Does this kit include a battery?
No. Battery storage is sold separately. Choose a compatible 48V battery with enough capacity for your desired runtime and enough continuous and surge power for your appliances. Battery settings and compatibility must be checked before installation.
What is the difference between 3.5kW inverter output and 2.7kW solar capacity?
The inverter can supply up to 3,500W continuously under suitable operating conditions. The six 450W panels total 2,700W of rated solar capacity. Actual solar output varies with sunlight, temperature and shading; the panels alone do not guarantee continuous 3.5kW output.
What appliances can this off-grid solar system run?
Suitable loads may include lights, laptops, a refrigerator and selected small appliances. Add up simultaneous running loads and check motor-starting surges against both inverter and battery limits. Heating appliances, pumps and air conditioners require individual sizing checks.
Does the Growatt SPF 3500TL LVM-US provide 240V power?
The single inverter supplied in this kit provides 120V AC, not 120/240V split-phase or three-phase power. If you need 240V appliances, ask ROCKSOLAR about a separately designed system.
Can I use this solar kit without a battery?
The inverter supports operation with or without a battery under suitable supply conditions. Without battery storage, it cannot store daytime solar energy for nighttime use or provide stored backup energy when other sources are unavailable. Output depends on the available supply and operating mode.
Can I connect a generator?
The inverter supports a compatible AC supply from a generator through its AC input. A generator can provide another energy source when sunlight is limited. The generator is sold separately, and its sizing, electrical quality and connection must be verified for the installation.
Can this kit export solar power to the utility grid?
This package is intended for off-grid use, not grid export or net metering. A compatible utility supply may be used at the specified AC input, but that does not make the kit a grid-export system.
Are the Canadian Solar 450W panels bifacial?
No. The CS6.1-54TM-450H TOPHiKu6 All-Black panels supplied here are non-bifacial N-type TOPCon panels. The six-panel array is rated at 2,700W; there is no advertised rear-side power bonus.
Is this solar kit suitable for Canadian winters?
The panel datasheet lists an operating range of -40°C to +85°C and snow and wind load ratings subject to specified mounting conditions. Snow cover and shorter days reduce production. The inverter needs a suitable dry indoor location within its 0–50°C operating range, and batteries must remain within their own temperature limits.
How long will a 48V battery power my cabin?
Runtime depends on usable battery energy, appliance consumption and system losses. As a rough example, 5kWh of usable stored energy at a steady 500W load gives 10 hours before inverter and other losses. This kit includes no battery, so runtime is not fixed.
Are Wi-Fi monitoring and solar charging included?
Yes. This ROCKSOLAR package includes a Wi-Fi monitoring module, although monitoring hardware is optional from the inverter manufacturer. The inverter has built-in MPPT charging rated up to 80A for solar charging and up to 40A for AC charging. These are battery-charging limits, not PV input-current ratings.
Will the panels fit on an RV roof?
Each panel measures approximately 1800 × 1134 × 35mm and weighs 23kg. Six panels weigh about 138kg before mounting hardware. Verify available space, roof capacity and suitability for mobile mounting; this is not a universal RV fit.
How should the six solar panels be connected?
Connect all six solar panels together in one series string (6S1P)—one chain of six panels feeding the inverter. This is the planned connection for this kit. Final installation still requires the site-specific cold-voltage and inverter input-current checks.
Can I install the off-grid solar kit myself?
You can plan the project and undertake work you are qualified and permitted to do. Electrical connections, grounding, protection and inspections must meet the equipment manuals and local requirements. Confirm which work requires a qualified installer and budget for mounting, battery cables, protection and any additional wiring.
