Save big on your solar system with Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program

Eligibility for Solar / Battery Storage 

  • Must own the home where the measure is installed 
  • Be responsible for paying for the install 
  • Have a residential Hydro account and be connected to the Ontario Electricity grid
  • Be a single detached, semi-detached, row house, townhome, or mobile home on a permanent foundation.

 

Steps for Participant 

  • Participant Completes Interest form online
  • Participant Selects a contractor of their choosing to size home and estimate rebate
  • Contractor submits application
  • Once the preapproval has been give the contractor can install the measure
  • Following the install they must submit the required documentation for final approval
  • Once approved the customer received the rebate 

 

Install can only be on rooftops - New solar and storage installations only, no expansions of existing systems.

Battery must be paired with Solar panels  - NO just battery install

·                  Must be sized for load displacement. Net-metering projects are not eligible.

·                  Contractor required to complete all applicable applications and permits from local municipality, LDC, and regulatory bodies.

 

What is needed when submitting an application:

·                  Detailed Proposal: Including estimated total eligible costs, project rationale and sizing, single line diagram or system sketch (if required by the LDC), make/model of the system

·                  Participant information: Name of the Participant, address of Eligible Home, name of LDC

·                  Attestations: Contractor will submit the applicable LDC Generation Connection Application or Equivalent

·                  Signed Participant Agreement
