What is included in this 20kW hybrid solar kit?

The kit includes two Growatt 10kW hybrid inverters, 36 Philadelphia Solar 600W panels, two GSL 14.34kWh LiFePO₄ batteries, six 100 ft PV cable sets, inverter communication cable and monitoring components. Together, they provide 21.6kW of rated solar capacity and 28.68kWh of nominal battery storage.

What can a 20kW hybrid solar system power?

Depending on your installation and available energy, it can support household appliances, lighting, refrigeration, pumps and selected workshop equipment. Large heating systems, EV chargers and motors require a load assessment. The 20kW inverter rating does not mean every appliance can run simultaneously under all conditions.

Will this solar system work during a power outage?

The system can supply circuits connected to its properly installed backup-load panel when sufficient battery or solar energy is available. Whole-home coverage depends on your electrical layout and loads; not every circuit is automatically backed up.

Can the two GSL batteries supply 20kW continuously?

The included two-battery bank should not be relied on for 20kW of continuous battery-only AC output. The 20kW figure describes combined inverter capacity, while actual battery output depends on battery discharge limits and operating conditions. Additional battery capacity may be needed for sustained high-power backup.

How long will the 28.68kWh battery bank last?

Runtime depends on your average power use. For illustration, 28.68kWh divided by a steady 2kW load equals approximately 14.3 hours before allowing for reserve settings and conversion losses. Actual runtime will be shorter without solar replenishment and will vary with temperature and battery condition.

Does this kit support split-phase and three-phase power?

Yes. The inverter pair supports a 120/240V split-phase installation, and Growatt documents a separate two-inverter 120/208V three-phase configuration. Three-phase requires different wiring and commissioning. Confirm per-phase capacity and equipment compatibility before ordering; do not assume 20kW of balanced three-phase output.

Can I connect a generator?

The Growatt inverters support generator charging through a manufacturer-supported connection arrangement. A generator is not included. Generator selection and installation must match the system’s voltage, configuration and charging requirements.

Does this hybrid solar kit work in Canadian winters?

Solar panels can produce electricity during cold weather, but shorter days, snow cover and shading reduce winter energy production. Panels, mounting and electrical components must be selected and installed for local conditions. The batteries also need an installation location that stays within their specified temperature limits.

How are the GSL batteries connected?

The conceptual design uses a shared battery bank with individual battery protection, enclosed common DC distribution and protected connections to both inverters. Exact GSL–Growatt communication compatibility and settings must be confirmed before commissioning.

What is the difference between Equipment Only and Equipment + Electrical BOS?

Equipment Only includes the listed inverters, panels, batteries, PV cable sets and communication/monitoring components. Equipment + Electrical BOS adds the specified site-specific electrical components, including battery distribution, protection, disconnects, compatible rapid shutdown and PV wiring. Confirm the final scope for your installation before ordering.

Can I install the solar kit myself?

You may be able to handle some preparation or mounting work, depending on local requirements and your experience. Electrical connections, permits, inspections and utility interconnection must meet the rules in your province or territory. Have a qualified electrical professional review the design before installation.

Can this system reduce my electricity bill?

Using solar energy directly and storing surplus energy can reduce electricity purchased from the grid. Savings depend on your location, solar exposure, consumption, electricity rates and system settings. Exporting electricity requires utility approval and eligibility for the applicable local program.
